Efficient Route toward N-Unsubstituted Thienoisoindigo Suitable for Side-Chain Engineering
[Image: see text] A highly efficient and easily scalable synthetic method toward N-unsubstituted thienoisoindigo (TII) is developed with more than 25% overall yield, which is higher than the reported cases, and allows facile side-chain manipulation of the thienoisoindigo core.
