Weak Base-Promoted Lactamization under Microwave Irradiation: Synthesis of Quinolin-2(1H)-ones and Phenanthridin-6(5H)-ones
[Image: see text] Quinolin-2(1H)-ones and phenanthridin-6(5H)-ones are synthesized in high yields by K(2)CO(3)-promoted cyclization of N-aryl-β-bromo-α,β-unsaturated amides and N-aryl-2-bromobenzamides in dimethylformamide under microwave irradiation.
