Sumario:We report a near-full-length genome sequence of a foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) of serotype Southern African Territories 2 (SAT 2), topotype VII, isolated from cattle during an FMDV outbreak in Bauchi State, Nigeria, in October 2014. This provides the first SAT 2 near-full-length genome sequence from West Africa and contributes to our understanding of viral spread and evolution.
