Sumario: | Two guereza colobus monkeys (Colobus guereza) reared in a zoological garden in Japan suddenly died of multifocal fibrinonecrotic gastroenteritis and septicemia associated with infection by Yersinia spp. It was necessary to microbiologically differentiate Yersinia frederiksenii and Y. enterocolitica. We described the pathological findings and discuss the causal agent to emphasize the need to revert to using a combination of multiple examinations for diagnosis. |
