Sumario:First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Biology Open, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Daisuke Takao is first author on ‘Feedback loops in the Plk4–STIL–HsSAS6 network coordinate site selection for procentriole formation’, published in BiO. Daisuke conducted the research described in this article while an Assistant Professor in Daiju Kitagawa's lab at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Tokyo, Japan. He is now at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, investigating cilia and centrosomes.
