Sumario: | This review presents the state-of-the-art in the forensic application of genetic methods driven by the research in population transcriptomics. In the first part of the review, the constraints of using classical genomic markers are shortly reviewed. In the second part, the developments in the field of inter-population diversity at the transcriptomic level are presented. Subsequently, a potential of population-specific transcriptomic markers in forensic science applications, including ascertaining population affiliation of human samples and cell mixtures separation, are presented. |
