description Ovarian torsion is a rare cause of pelvic pain during the postpartum period. The absence of specific clinical and radiological signs makes suspicion and preoperative diagnosis difficult. Delayed management can compromise ovarian viability. We report the case of a 24-year patient presenting to the Emergency Department five days after delivery with severe pelvic pain. The diagnosis of ovarian torsion associated with cystic mass was made on the basis of ultrasound images. The patients underwent cystectomy and a conservative treatment.
