Sumario: | This case report presents a 36-year old man with a disseminated sporotrichosis who presented with seizures and crusted lesions all over the body. Imaging studies revealed acute ischemic brain event with haemorrhagic transformation in right frontal lobe. Skin biopsy showed Sporothrix schenckii. He was treated with standard amphotericin B. Despite therapy, he developed consciousness loss, multiorgan-failure and eventually expired. Necropsy findings showed renal, hepatic, splenic, prostate, testicles and meningeal/cerebral involvement. |
