Sumario: | The anesthetic management of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is challenging and is associated with a high mortality rate. We present a case of a 44-year-old pregnant female known for DCM with low ejection fraction who underwent an elective cesarean section and tubal ligation. The patient was transferred to the intensive care unit in a stable condition with a favorable outcome. Awareness about the appropriate anesthetic management for this type of patients is of paramount importance because similar cases are likely to be encountered with the advances in modern medicine. |
