Pancreatic β‐cells express major histocompatibility complex class II: Do diabetic β‐cells have the capacity of antigen‐presenting cells?
Russell et al. showed that major histocompatibility complex class II is expressed in pancreatic β‐cells by a highly accurate method called transcriptome analysis. Pancreatic β‐cells might have the capacity as antigen‐presenting cells.[Image: see text]
