Sumario:This chapter elaborates on a review of BCM. As the background, it describes the historical development of BCM and its relationships with other concepts. It will be followed by reviews on BCM as a management system, BCM’s main principles, and Business Continuity Planning overview. The next section will describe the implementation of BCM, related with regulations or standards that support the concept and the development of BCM level of preparedness. Several reviews on BC plans from various sectors are elaborated in the final part of the chapter, followed by reviewing the need for BCM in organizations based on its benefits and challenges.
