Sumario:Among frequent potential respiratory pathogens, Mycoplasma pneumoniæ, Chlamydia pneumoniæ, and Legionella pneumophila are difficult to isolate with usual laboratory techniques (culture, serologic tests). Adapted molecular biology tools are able to amplify a specific genomic target and allow the diagnosis the same day, but with a very time consuming process. The proposed technique allows the diagnosis of the three bacteriaes in a few hours time using a multiplex single-tube polymerase chain reaction.
