description The worldwide coronavirus crisis represents for each of us a new, unexpected, and particularly challenging situation, and is accompanied by strong emotions of fear and insecurity in people with and without autism. The measures initiated range from distancing and hygiene regulations through to a reduced social life. This article deals with the impact of this new situation on people with autism and on autism therapy. In addition to the description of positive effects on people with autism, current therapeutic developments and interventions during the coronavirus pandemic form the focus of this paper.
