Sumario: | This article provides comprehensive experimental data of two water-swelling materials, water swelling rubber (WSR) and water-swelling polyurethane (WSP). Swelling tests, Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) were performed. Sealing properties of WSR and WSP were characterized by the data of swelling ratios (S(w) and S(a)), storage moduli (E') and images of micro-damage morphologies. These data can be useful for the prediction of the long-term waterproof performance of water-swelling materials and provide reference for material selection. The data presented herein was used for the article, titled “Laboratory evaluation of long-term sealing behaviors of two water-swelling materials for shield tunnel gasket” [1]. |
