description A 57-year-old man is hospitalized in intensive care for an acute respiratory distress syndrome related to a Covid-19 infection. After a first phase during which the patient is sedated and nerve-blocked, physiotherapy consists in passively mobilizing the patient, participating in the prone position, respiratory physiotherapy is not necessary. In a second step, extubation is possible and several aspects are developed: respiratory physiotherapy, oxygenation, swallowing and rehabilitation. However, damage to the lung significantly decreases oxygen saturation during exercise. High-flow nasal oxygenation and/or non-invasive ventilation (NIV) can optimize rehabilitation in this patient with a still precarious respiratory function. EVIDENCE INDEX (EVID-I): 3.2.
