Why we fail: mechanisms and co-factors of unsuccessful thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke

PURPOSE: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is an effective treatment for patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke. However, recanalization fails in about 16.5% of interventions.
