DFT calculations were also carried out to clarify the reaction mechanism, and to explain the observed product distributions and structural variances in the dimer-like products. Studies on the transformation of unsubstituted o-(pivaloylaminomethyl)benzaldehyde under similar conditions were presented as well. |
