Upon diagnosing her with DH, liposomal amphotericin B was started, and she eventually recovered after a prolonged hospitalization. Intrabdominal histoplasmosis has many similarities with IBD. Treatment with immunosuppressants in undiagnosed histoplasmosis can lead to dissemination with potentially catastrophic results.
