Jenseits des Marktprinzips: Über den politischen Sinn gruppendynamischen Lernens

This article of the journal “Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation. (GIO)” deals with the fundamental political significance of group dynamic learning, as it is realised in the form of training and consulting. As an applied social science, group dynamics is not only aiming for a better organization of interactions and work processes. Since its beginnings it rather pursues an eminently political claim. Its emancipatory endeavor is about enabling participation and co-creation of social contexts, be it in groups, organizations or the social life in general. Considering current trends of organizational training and consulting, predominantly focusing on the enhancement of performance and self-optimization, this line of tradition seems to be clearly out of sight. The uneasiness that emerges, asks for more in-depth discussions. The article builds on these roots and reconstructs the inherent political dimension of group dynamics. In doing so it attempts to clarify the political significance of group dynamic learning.
