Human infections caused by Staphylococcus argenteus in Germany: genetic characterisation and clinical implications of novel species designation

We report a series of Staphylococcus argenteus infections from Saarland, Germany. Travel histories were unremarkable for extra-European sojourns, indicating an autochthonous transmission mode.
