Sumario: | In December of 2019, an emergence of a new type of pneumonia resulted in a pandemic. To prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), governments worldwide introduced a multitude of restrictions and preventative measures, including national lockdowns. Previous studies reported the clinical characteristics and epidemiology of the disease. The purpose of this article is to provide an analysis of changes in the number and nature of the accidents and emergency department attendances during the early phase of COVID-19 lockdown in the United Kingdom. |
