description Malania oleifera is an endangered species found in restricted areas in Karst areas in Southwestern China and is also with significant economic and ecological values. Here, complete mitochondrial genome of M. oleifera was characterized, which is the first for the Olacaceae family. The mitogenome is 527,575 bp in length with a GC content of 45.65%, including one pseudogene, and 38 protein-coding, 32 tRNA, three rRNA genes. Eleven genes have two copies in the mitogenome, and 3 genes are trans-spliced. Phylogenetic tree found that M. oleifera is making a sister branch to that of species from Rosids and Asterids.
