description Neurobrucellosis is an uncommon and dangerous complication of brucellosis. Meningitis is the most common presentation of neurobrucellosis, but it may present in a wide range of clinical manifestations such as myelitis, brain abscess, radiculopathy, and cranial nerve involvement. It tends to present insidiously with symptoms appearing gradually. Acute presentation of neurobrucellosis is very uncommon. Here, we report a case of a female child who presented with an acute onset of ataxia and slurred speech with positive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and neuroimaging findings for neurobrucellosis. In endemic countries such as Saudi Arabia, neurobrucellosis should be considered as a differential diagnosis for patients presenting with unexplained neurological symptoms.
