Sumario:In medical practice, the concept of survival is reduced to a quantitative approach related to the patient's sameness. A philosophical refoundation of this concept, within the framework of the current contributions of the Covid-19 pandemic narratives and of Ricœurian hermeneutics, allows the development of survival-ipse. This is the hyperbolic force of refiguration of the living-dead human being. This excess of survival is, within the illness and the pandemic, the source of health and not its effect. The role of care is to constantly reactivate it.
