A complete mechanistic picture is presented, in which Au(I) and Rh(II) non‐acceptor vinyl carbenes were shown to undergo a vinylcyclopropanation/Cope rearrangement or a direct (4+3) cycloaddition that takes place in a non‐concerted manner. |
