Acute upper extremity ischemia and symptomatic popliteal artery aneurysm secondary to coronavirus disease 2019
We report the cases of two patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). One patient had presented with acute right upper extremity ischemia (axillary artery thrombosis) and one patient with a symptomatic popliteal artery aneurysm (7.5 × 7.2 cm). description | We report the cases of two patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). One patient had presented with acute right upper extremity ischemia (axillary artery thrombosis) and one patient with a symptomatic popliteal artery aneurysm (7.5 × 7.2 cm). Both patients had tested positive for COVID-19 but had no systemic symptoms. The patients were successfully treated using percutaneous techniques and subsequently discharged with oral anticoagulation therapy. A review of the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2)–related arterial thrombosis and aneurysmal disease was performed and discussed. |
