description | In Spain, the COVID-19 Pandemic has been characterized by having a presentation in two phases (with an intermediate phase of political and social irresponsibility) that have been different in terms of their incidence, lethality, and also in terms of health and social measures that were taken in each one. A pandemic in which all Healthcare Organizations have had to reconvert to handle a “different” situation, a situation that not only affected the clinical management of a new type of patient, but also all aspects of the organization. And like others, the Emergency Services have had to reinvent themselves, change their procedures, their ways of working to face not only a pandemic, but a new social health order. SAMUR-Civil Protection, a Spanish SEM, was converted in the first weeks of March into an SEM-COVID. Throughout the first phase, SAMUR had to generate new forms of assistance and new working methods. |
