Sumario: | The novel SARS-CoV-2 virus has affected children and adolescents throughout the world since its discovery in 2019. For many children, infection with SARS-CoV-2 presents as an asymptomatic to mild infection. However, in a small subset of children who become infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, a more severe post-infectious inflammatory illness has emerged, referred to as Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). Since its discovery in 2020, the scientific community has learned a lot about the presentation, evaluation, treatment, and management of MIS-C. |
