India is trialling the use of facial recognition technology (FRT) to support its Covid-19 vaccination programme, as it battles a surge in cases that last month took it beyond 20 million infections and 200,000 deaths.

The COVID-19 resource centre is hosted on Elsevier Connect, the company's public news and information website.
