description INTRODUCTION: The salvage of a mangled limb is quite challenging, but can be rewarding especially for younger individuals. CASE REPORT: We present a case of mangled injury of the ankles in a young male, which was salvaged successfully, using Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery procedures. CONCLUSION: The GHSS is helpful for decision-making and to predict the ultimate outcome of the open injuries. Younger patients with intact vascularity of the limb should be considered for limb salvage with a multidisciplinary stepwise approach.
