description | The agent that caused the third global pandemic is SARS-CoV-2, a newly identified B-coronavirus. The pandemic triggered by COVID-19 brought to the world not only an increased risk of death but also an important psychological pressure. In the EU quarantine and emergency measures were applied in order to limit the spread of the virus. Thus there were restrictions on movement and physical contact between people, and inactivity was increased. An active lifestyle presented even online could have had a positive effect during the quarantine period on health management, and it could have improved functional capacity for people in isolation. The COVID-19 pandemic is a public health problem that influences the economic, political, and scientific fields of the world. The lockdown in Romania, established on March 16, 2020, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had an influence on the health conditions of the population, regardless of age group. During the lockdown and later during the alert state, the students carried out their scientific/academic activity in the online environment. In this context, the reduction of physical activity has led to the impairment of physical, motor, and sensory capacity. Exercise programs must be permanently accompanied by elements of respiratory gymnastics with a particularly prophylactic character in order to prevent the occurrence of any ailments at the upper respiratory tract. |
