Sumario:The upheavals in care provision engendered by the management of Covid-19 in nursing homes distances us from the inner world of inpatients and caregivers. The trauma of lockdown and death need to be viewed in the perspective of the aftermath of past trauma and bereavement in the institution. It amplifies the anxiety of being in the last stages of life, often dissimulated by residents and not perceived by caregivers, and recalls the prominent psychic component in depressive conditions.
