description European aviation plays a key role in serving society’s needs for safe, secure and sustainable mobility in Europe and all over the world. Its impact on European economy is significant and must be sustained. Environmental protection is and will continue to be a key driver for the aviation industry as a whole. Meeting community expectations on aircraft noise, engine emission and fuel/energy consumption has always presented a challenge to aircraft and engine manufacturers and to those involved in airport planning and air traffic management. The paper describes the current points of the EU civil aviation on a way to ACARE FlightPath 2050 Challenge 3 goals, defined in PARE project at mid-term stage.
