Clinical examination and CT imaging demonstrated ascites associated with peritoneal nodules, raising the possibility of metastatic disease. Immunochemistry staining from ascites fluid cytology confirmed renal cell carcinoma. Following multidisciplinary discussions, the patient was commenced on a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
