description | The first lockdown (April 2020) led to a reduced number of general medicine consultations. During the first wave of COVID-19, in view of limiting propagation of the virus, general practitioners adapted their practice by favoring teleconsultation and consultation in COVID centers. The first wave of COVID-19 favored territorial coordination on an outpatient basis and the utilisation of new channels of communication to facilitate exchanges between general practitioners and territory-based communities bringing together health professionals (CPTS). During the first wave of COVID-19, several outpatient-centered research projects emerged, ranging from tracking cohorts to randomized therapeutic trials. In view of adapting existing recommendations and guidelines to on-the-ground realities, governmental bodies and learned societies in general medicine have begun to collaborate with one another. |
