Fabrication of Novel Functional Cell‐Plastic Using Polyvinyl Alcohol: Effects of Cross‐Linking Structure and Mixing Ratio of Components on the Mechanical and Thermal Properties (Global Challenges 8/2021)

Cell‐plastics, in which green algal cells are used as a fundamental resource, have been fabricated which are able to convert CO(2) directly into plastics via photosynthesis. In article number 2100026 by Kohei Iritani and co‐workers, polyvinyl alcohol‐cell‐plastics with high water absorption ability...

Sumario:Cell‐plastics, in which green algal cells are used as a fundamental resource, have been fabricated which are able to convert CO(2) directly into plastics via photosynthesis. In article number 2100026 by Kohei Iritani and co‐workers, polyvinyl alcohol‐cell‐plastics with high water absorption ability are successfully produced. The results open a route to fabricate sustainable and functional cell‐plastics for many useful purposes. [Image: see text]
