description WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN ABOUT THIS TOPIC? Identifying the most influential spreaders in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission networks is crucial for developing effective prevention strategies. WHAT IS ADDED BY THIS REPORT? This study identified key nodes of the HIV molecular transmission network among men who have sex with men (MSM) by utilizing linkages between sequences to reconstruct the transmission network at the molecular level. WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR PUBLIC HEALTH PRACTICE? This study could act as an important supplement of laboratory results to epidemiological studies and suggests that interdisciplinary research could inspire new ideas for finding breakthroughs on HIV/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) prevention and control.
