Enantiodivergent Synthesis of Benzoquinolizidinones from L-Glutamic Acid

Benzoquinolizidinone systems were synthesized in both enantiomeric forms from L-glutamic acid. The key chiral arylethylglutarimide intermediate was synthesized from dibenzylamino-glutamate and homoveratrylamine.
