Sumario: | Patients undergoing prolonged surgery in a lithotomy position may develop acute lower limb compartment syndrome in the absence of trauma or pre-existing vascular disease, otherwise known as well-leg compartment syndrome (WLCS). Early recognition and management would prevent the potential, lethal complications associated with this condition. We present a case of a 55-year-old gentleman who developed bilateral WLCS after prolonged abdominoperineal resection of his pelvic liposarcoma. |
