Simulating coxsackievirus B3 infection with an accessible computational model of its complete kinetics

Sumario:We describe how to use a publicly available computational model for coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) infection that we recast as a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI-based implementation enables non-computationalists to incorporate systems-biology modeling into their research and teaching. The model simulates the full life cycle of CVB3, including the host antiviral response, and includes 44 alterable parameters. The model simplifies some viral life cycle processes to improve interpretability and utility when performing in silico experiments. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Lopacinski et al. (2021).
