Sumario:With the help of dopamine, we constructed a hydroxyl-rich secondary reaction platform on a surface formed by interwoven nylon 56 and cotton fibres. Octadecyl mercaptan and vinyl trimethoxysilane (VTMS) are used for the click coupling preparation of superhydrophobic reagents, which are grafted onto polydopamine aggregates and successfully used to prepare superhydrophobic nylon 56/cotton-interwoven fabric. The static contact angle was 161° and the sliding angle was 8°. Note that the prepared superhydrophobic fabric can withstand corrosive liquids, water washing, ultraviolet radiation and mechanical abrasion, it has excellent superhydrophobic stability, and self-cleaning and oil–water-separation functionalities. This simple, fast and environmentally friendly method can be applied to other substrates and shows tremendous potential for expanding the field of superhydrophobic applications.
