description In this study, we applied the Okun’s law to examine the current progress of sustainable economic growth and unemployment goal of the fourteen developed and developing countries of Asia. Our findings suggests in the long-run, only China has achieved the sustainable economic growth and unemployment goal until 2018. However, due to recent downward trend of economic growth and upward trend of unemployment rate, China is currently walking opposite to the said goal. Besides, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Thailand are progressing fast and Malaysia and Tajikistan are progressing moderately towards the sustainable economic growth and unemployment goal 2030. Despite a higher Okun’s coefficient, Turkey is walking opposite to the SDG 2030 due to a sharp rising trend of unemployment and a quick declining trend of GDP in recent time. The rest of the countries are far-off from the above-mentioned goals.
