Sumario: | When orthopaedic surgeons conduct research, their goal should be to have it published in a medical journal that will optimize their ability to communicate their message to the widest audience possible. The first step is to write up the report to display your work to its best advantage. Then, you need to submit it to a journal, and have it accepted. I will review the process of selecting a target journal and then the possible events along the path to acceptance. As papers are frequently rejected at the time of first submission, I will review the most common reasons for rejection and how to benefit from rejection to improve the paper. Then I will give advice on how to respond to a request for revision and see the paper through to successful publication. |
