MATERIAL AND METHODS: Retrospective case-control study with a subset of pregnant women with a small for gestational age foetus. Groups were established according to birth weight percentile. Previous SARS-CoV-2 infection was defined by positive antibodies obtained on admission to hospital for delivery. RESULTS: No statistically significant differences between controls and cases were recorded in terms of positive IgG antibodies (11.5 vs. 8.8%). There were no premature births or significant differences in the date or type of delivery. CONCLUSIONS: Asymptomatic infection by SARs-CoV-2 during pregnancy does not seem to affect foetal growth. |
