description Health care organizations are facing the fallout from inadequate nurse staffing in addition to the emotional and spiritual tolls of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations must strategically differentiate themselves by novel methods of recruitment and retention, including care of the nurse as a whole person. Tactical strategies can be implemented by nurse leaders to promote the spiritual well-being of the nursing workforce. These strategies include incorporating spirituality and soft skills into nursing orientation, developing and providing interventions to support spiritual well-being, and implementing methods to provide spiritual care of patients by nurses.
