Sumario: | Social distancing has been enforced by many government and health organizations as an imperative measure to stop the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. However, current surveillance systems do not have the ability to detect breaches in social distancing nor real-time contact tracing. This chapter aims to provide a novel solution to this problem with the help of image processing techniques. The proposed system will generate structured data involving social distancing breaches and face mask detection based on surveillance footages. In the case of a person testing positive for the virus, it will also project the susceptible victims who have been in contact with the person through contact tracing, An installation of this kind will decrease the spread substantially and enable real-time contact tracing. |
