Sumario:Gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA)-based biomaterials have been widely used in various biomedical applications due to their suitable biological properties and tuneable physical characteristics. In particular, GelMA can be used as a versatile matrix for bone tissue engineering scaffolds via various strategies to overcome major obstacles such as insufficient mechanical property and uncontrollable degradation. This review presents the research status of GelMA, its structure and function, GelMA-based biomaterials and the development of methods along with their existing challenges.
