Chukranoids A–I, isopimarane diterpenoids from Chukrasia velutina

Bioactivity guided separation of Chukrasia velutina root methanolic extract led to the isolation of nine new isopimarane diterpenoids, chukranoids A–I (1–9). The absolute configuration was then assigned by comparing the experimental CD spectra and the calculated CD spectra. Chukranoids A–I (1–9) sho...

Sumario:Bioactivity guided separation of Chukrasia velutina root methanolic extract led to the isolation of nine new isopimarane diterpenoids, chukranoids A–I (1–9). The absolute configuration was then assigned by comparing the experimental CD spectra and the calculated CD spectra. Chukranoids A–I (1–9) showed moderate antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain. It seems that conjugate system in the isopimarane skeleton may influence their antimalarial activity.
