Sumario:Introduction: It is a well-known fact that, the delivery of mental health services largely depends on the adequacy of human resources. In India with ever growing medical colleges and postgraduate institutes, the system is striving hard to provide this important mental health care manpower to bridge the mental healthcare gap. However, Psychiatry teachers across India have challenges in producing quality manpower due to various reasons. To bridge this gap, a special program was conceived and aptly titled “SUNDAY SPECIAL 60MINS WITH PSYCHIATRY TEACHERS” from March 2021. This was a combined Effort of IPS Faculty Training Task Force, IPS UG Education Sub- Committee and IPS PG Education Sub-Committee. Many sessions were carried out by Psychiatry Teachers, including a special session on the World Mental Health Day 2021. The format of the program was envisaged to include all stakeholders from UG/PG students to senior faculty members serving in both Government and Private 1 Medical Colleges, across India. The successful completion across all the states in South zone and subsequently across East zone, later towards rest of India and interestingly all sessions are video recorded and available in YouTube . The current Symposium is planned to share the insights that were obtained by meaningful interactions with faculty in understanding the challenges & opportunities of Psychiatry Teachers across India.
