description | In this workshop, we would be talking about three main topics: 1. “Will toxicology help my clients with addictive disorders?”:In this part, we will focus on-i) Situations in which drug toxicological assessments can add additional information for the clinician to make use ofii) Situations in which toxicological assessments guide the treatment decisions and choices, e.g. clients presenting with acute psychosisiii) Other patient-centered and non-patient-centered/ forensic settings in which drug toxicological tests are commonly used. 2. “Cost-Benefit analysis of including toxicology services in routine care”:In this part, we will focus on-i) Various types of tests and their costsii) Where and how one can procure these toxicological tests 3. “Toxicological services in academic set-ups”:In this part, we will talk about various types of toxicological assessments in academic set-ups We intend to conduct an interactive session with the audience in which we will also equip the attendees with the knowledge to use and interpret various toxicological assessments available commercially. We will also demonstrate a small web-based tool that can be used by the practitioners to interpret the results of such tests. |
